Giving Thanks

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers

1 Thessalonians 1:2

A couple weeks ago we had the opportunity to bring two truck-loads of supplies to the Ukrainian border in Poland. From there the supplies were successfully delivered to the Bethany Church of Vinnytsia. During these frightening times for Ukrainian people, Bethany Church has been accepting refugees from the frontline regions, such as Kharkiv, Kyiv, Irpin’, Sumy, and others.

For the most part, refugees come to their center for a day or two and then continue their escape to the western parts of Ukraine and Europe. The good people of Vinnytsia have been able to host on average 150-200 people per day, providing them with food and a place to stay overnight. The church is continuously in need of food supplies to prepare meals, baby formulas, diapers, hygiene items (tooth brushes, wet wipes, soap, shampoo, etc.) and disinfecting products.

We praise God for the response from Western countries to support Ukraine during this time of conflict. We want to extend our gratitude to you, for we were able to help Bethany Church of Vinnytsia with many of the supplies mentioned above. We have been in touch with them daily and they extend their thanks for your immense moral and material support for the people that have been forced to leave their homes. All the medical supplies were sent directly to their local medical center. Part of our delivery was sent to the military at the frontlines near Kyiv. The rest they are keeping at the church for the refugees that are passing through their center.

We are praying for the Russian invasion on Ukraine to stop but we also understand that the effects of this war will not soon be mended. The need for humanitarian help will be needed for many months ahead. Therefore, we are committing to bring supplies to Ukraine twice a month. Even though the majority of people that were able to flee, have left Ukraine, those that stayed have very little to get by on. Many don’t have jobs to get back to and large number of farms have been destroyed leading to no crop that will be grown this year to feed the people of Ukraine. So, our prayer requests are for:

  • Volunteers that chose to stay back in Ukraine, providing help to the civilians unable to escape
  • Financial support to keep purchasing the supplies needed in Ukraine
  • 2nd vehicle to help deliver supplies to Ukraine
  • Storage facility for the incoming supplies prior to their delivery to Ukraine
  • Our safety driving between Italy and the Ukrainian-Poland border

Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
